The 2026 Proton Black Friday sale runs from 26 October to 30 November 2026, through partner links only. Prices below were read from Proton’s offer pages on 27 October 2026.

Short answer: The Proton VPN Black Friday deal is 75% off the 24-month VPN Plus plan, billed at $59.76 for both years, and the plan then renews each year at $83.88. Take it if you want a paid VPN for the next two years, because one payment covers the whole period; stay on Proton VPN Free if one device and servers in 10 countries chosen for you are enough.

  • Take the deal if you want streaming, P2P, the ad and tracker blocker or more than one device at a time, and you are happy to pay for two years up front.
  • Take Unlimited instead if you would also pay for Proton Mail, Pass or Drive in the next year.
  • Stay on Free if you only need a VPN now and then on one device.
  • Avoid monthly billing: at $9.99 a month on October 15, 2026 it is the most expensive way to hold VPN Plus.

Black Friday, 26 October to 30 November 2026: VPN Plus 75% off the 24-month plan, billed at $59.76, then renews each year at $83.88. Regular prices checked October 15, 2026: $9.99 a month, $53.88 for the first year or $83.76 for the first two years, both renewing at $83.88 a year.

What is the Proton VPN Black Friday deal?

Proton is taking 75% off the 24-month VPN Plus plan from 26 October to 30 November 2026, and the offer then renews each year at $83.88. It is the largest discount in Proton’s 2026 sale and the only one with a two-year term; Mail Plus, Drive Plus and Pass Plus are discounted for 12 months, and so is Unlimited. Our overview of every Proton Black Friday offer ranks all five side by side.

Black Friday VPN PlusDetail
Discount75% off
First term24 months
Billed for the first 24 months$59.76
Effective monthly cost$2.49
Renews each year at$83.88
Available26 October to 30 November 2026, through partner links

Two details shape the decision. The first is that the whole 24 months are billed at once: you pay $59.76 at checkout and nothing more until the renewal, which falls in late 2028 if you buy during the sale. The effective monthly cost is $2.49, but you do not pay it monthly. The second is that the offer is available only through partner links like the ones on this page. Proton’s announcement to its partners says so, which means the regular pricing page on protonvpn.com will keep showing the regular plans while the sale runs.

The dates are generous. Black Friday itself is 27 November and Cyber Monday is 30 November, but the offer opens a month earlier, and Proton’s announcement gives the same percentage for the whole window. There is no advantage in waiting for the last week.

What does VPN Plus cost outside the sale?

To know whether a discount is good, you need the price it replaces. Here is what VPN Plus cost on Proton’s regular pricing page on October 15, 2026, in US dollars, with the renewal each plan states.

Regular VPN Plus planBilledEffective monthlyLabel on the pageThen renews at
1 month$9.99$9.99none$9.99 a month
1 year$53.88 for the first 12 months$4.4955% off$83.88 a year
2 years$83.76 for the first 24 months$3.4965% off$83.88 a year

The labels on the regular page are measured against the monthly price. Twelve months at $9.99 would be $119.88, so the $53.88 yearly plan is labelled 55% off; 24 months at $9.99 would be $239.76, so the $83.76 two-year plan is labelled 65% off. Both regular discounted plans then renew at $83.88 a year, which is the figure that matters once the introductory term ends.

The useful comparison for two years of VPN Plus at regular prices is therefore:

  • Monthly billing for 24 months: $239.76.
  • The yearly plan, then one renewal: $53.88 plus $83.88, or $137.76.
  • The two-year plan: $83.76.

The two-year plan is already the cheapest regular way to hold VPN Plus, at almost two thirds less than paying monthly. The Black Friday offer is a deeper discount on that same two-year plan.

How to judge the offer price

Percentages are an awkward way to compare VPN deals, because every provider measures them against a different base. Proton’s partner announcement gives the Black Friday discount as 75% off, with the plan then renewing each year at $83.88, but it does not name the base for the percentage, so the clean way to judge the offer is to compare the amount you are billed with the regular two-year price and look at the renewal under it.

Two years of VPN PlusBilled up frontThen renews each year at
Regular monthly, 24 payments$9.99 a month, $239.76 in total$9.99 a month
Regular yearly, then one renewal$53.88, then $83.88$83.88
Regular two-year plan$83.76$83.88
Black Friday two-year plan$59.76$83.88

Three questions settle it. Is the Black Friday amount below $83.76? It should be, since the regular two-year plan carries a smaller discount on the same term. Is the renewal the same as the regular $83.88, or different? The offer page states it under the price, and this guide shows it in the table as soon as the sale opens. And will you still want a VPN in two years? If the honest answer is “probably not”, the yearly plan or the free plan may suit you better than any two-year deal.

It also helps to think beyond the first term. Over four years, the Black Friday plan costs its two-year price plus two yearly renewals at $83.88; the regular two-year plan costs $83.76 plus two renewals at $83.88, or $251.52. The saving from the sale is concentrated in the first two years, and that is the part you are deciding on now.

If the numbers work for you, check the two-year offer price and compare it with the $83.76 regular two-year figure above before you pay.

What happens after the first 24 months?

After 24 months the plan renews automatically each year at $83.88, the renewal price stated on the offer page. On the regular two-year plan that figure was $83.88 a year on October 15, 2026. Proton puts the renewal line directly under each price, which is more transparent than many VPN providers, but it is still easy to forget a charge that comes two years after the purchase.

Three habits help. Put a reminder in your calendar a few weeks before the renewal date. Decide then whether to keep VPN Plus, move to Unlimited, or drop to the free plan. And if you cancel, know what cancelling means: Proton’s support article on credits and proration explains that a cancelled plan does not end early and does not produce credits; it simply runs to the end of the period you paid for and then becomes Proton Free.

That last point works in your favour. Cancelling auto-renewal soon after buying does not cost you any of the 24 months, so if you are the kind of person who forgets renewals, you can switch it off on day one and decide again in 2028.

What VPN Plus adds over Free

Proton VPN Free is one of the few free VPNs worth using: no ads, no data cap, a no-logs policy and secure protocols on every plan, according to Proton’s comparison table. Plus is what you pay for when the free plan’s limits get in the way.

The three upgrades most people notice are choice of country, more devices and the blocker. On Free, Proton picks the server country for you from 10; on Plus you choose any of more than 140, which matters for travel and for reaching your home country’s services from abroad. Ten simultaneous devices covers a household’s phones and laptops on one account. NetShield, Proton’s DNS filter, blocks ads, trackers and malware domains on every connected device. Proton also says its VPN Accelerator can raise speeds by up to 400%; that is Proton’s own claim, and real gains depend on distance to the server and your network.

Secure Core, a Plus feature, adds another hop through Proton’s own servers before your traffic leaves the network, which Proton describes as an extra layer of protection. Proton also says its VPN apps are fully open source, so anyone can inspect the code. Our Proton VPN Free vs Plus guide covers each difference with examples, and the full Proton VPN review covers audits, apps and the no-logs record.

Can existing subscribers use the deal?

Proton’s partner announcement does not say whether the offer is limited to new accounts, so the offer page decides at checkout. If you already pay for VPN Plus and the page lets you switch to the Black Friday plan, Proton’s proration rule applies: the unused days of your current plan are converted into credits and taken off the cost of the new plan, so you do not pay twice for the same weeks.

If you use Proton VPN Free, check whether the offer page lets you sign in with your existing account. Upgrading the account you already have keeps your free Mail, Pass and Drive data in one place, instead of starting a second Proton account just for the VPN.

One warning applies to everyone. Black Friday brings fake coupon sites. Proton’s support pages say that a voucher advertised on a site other than proton.me or protonvpn.com may be fake or a phishing attempt. A genuine Proton checkout is on a Proton domain, and you should only ever enter your Proton password there.

Should you take VPN Plus or Unlimited?

Unlimited is also in the sale, at 50% off for 12 months, and it then renews each year at $119.88. It includes VPN Plus on 10 devices plus Mail Plus, Pass Plus and Drive with 500 GB of storage, three custom domains, unlimited aliases and Proton Sentinel account protection.

The trade-off is term length against breadth. VPN Plus at Black Friday covers two years for one app. Unlimited covers one year for everything. If the VPN is the only paid app you want, VPN Plus is the clear pick. Keep in mind that Proton’s support pages say one account cannot hold two Plus subscriptions, so VPN Plus cannot later be paired with Mail Plus on the same account; the route to both is Unlimited. If you are also about to pay for a private inbox, a password manager or encrypted storage, Unlimited is the better buy, and our analysis of whether Proton Unlimited is worth it shows the regular-price arithmetic. At regular prices on October 15, 2026, Unlimited cost $119.88 a year against $83.88 for a renewed year of VPN Plus alone.

People replacing Google services usually end up on Unlimited; our guide to de-Googling your life explains the order in which to move Gmail, Drive, Photos and passwords.

Who should buy, and who should skip?

Buy it if you travel or work remotely

Hotel, airport and cafe networks are where a VPN earns its keep. VPN Plus lets you choose the exit country, protects up to 10 devices and blocks trackers on all of them. Two years covered by one payment means one less subscription to manage on the road.

Buy it if you stream or download

Streaming and P2P are Plus features on Proton’s comparison table. Streaming services change what works and set their own terms of use, so treat VPN access to a catalogue as something that can change, not a promise. Our streaming guides explain what each service allows.

Buy it for a household

Ten simultaneous connections cover most families’ phones, tablets and laptops under one account. If each person wants their own Proton account with Mail and Pass, look at Unlimited or at the household plans instead.

Skip it if Free is enough

If you connect occasionally on one device and do not care which country you exit from, Proton VPN Free does the job without a time limit. The deal is a discount on something you would pay for anyway, not a reason to start paying.

Skip it if two years is too long

If you are unsure whether you will still want a VPN in 2028, the regular yearly plan at $53.88 for the first year, renewing at $83.88, is the shorter commitment. It costs more per month than the two-year plan but less up front.

Which buying mistakes should you avoid?

Black Friday VPN offers are designed to make a long commitment feel small. These are the mistakes we see most often, and how to avoid each one with Proton’s offer.

Comparing percentages instead of prices

Every provider measures its discount against a different base, and Proton’s own regular page measures against the monthly price. A 75% label tells you less than the billed amount and the renewal line together. Compare those two numbers with the regular $83.76 two-year plan and its $83.88 renewal, and the decision gets simple.

Forgetting the renewal

A two-year plan renews in two years, which is long enough to forget. The renewal on the Black Friday plan is $83.88; write the date down when you buy, or cancel auto-renewal straight away, since Proton lets a cancelled plan run to the end of the period you paid for.

Buying a VPN for the wrong job

A VPN hides your traffic from the local network and your internet provider and changes the country websites see. It does not make you anonymous to services you sign in to, and it does not replace a password manager or a private inbox. If what you actually want is fewer trackers in your email or stronger logins, Proton Mail or Pass may be the better first purchase.

Paying twice for overlapping plans

If you might move to Unlimited within a year, consider buying Unlimited now. Proton does credit unused days when you switch paid plans, so nothing is lost, but one purchase is simpler than two.

Using a coupon from a random site

Proton warns that vouchers advertised away from proton.me and protonvpn.com may be fake or phishing pages. The genuine offer opens on a Proton domain from a partner link and never asks for your password anywhere else.

Frequently asked questions

How long does the Proton VPN Black Friday deal last?

From 26 October to 30 November 2026, so it covers both Black Friday on 27 November and Cyber Monday on 30 November. Proton’s announcement gives the same 75% discount on the 24-month plan for the whole period, so there is no benefit in waiting until the last week.

What does the plan renew at?

After 24 months the plan renews each year at $83.88, the renewal price stated on the offer page. For comparison, the regular two-year plan renewed at $83.88 a year on October 15, 2026. Set a reminder before the renewal date if you want to review the plan.

Is the offer on Proton’s normal pricing page?

No. Proton says the 2026 offers are available only through partner links, which open a dedicated landing page on a Proton domain. The regular pricing page keeps showing the regular plans, such as the $83.76 two-year plan seen on October 15, 2026.

Can I get a refund if Proton VPN does not suit me?

Proton’s regular plan cards show a 30-day money-back guarantee. Check the Black Friday offer page for the same line before you pay, because promotional checkouts can carry their own terms. Proton VPN Free is also a no-cost way to test the apps before buying.

Does VPN Plus include Proton Mail or Pass?

VPN Plus includes the free versions of Proton Mail, Pass and Drive, which every Proton account gets. The paid versions of those apps come with Proton Unlimited, which is 50% off for 12 months in the same sale and then renews each year at $119.88.

How many devices can I use?

VPN Plus protects up to 10 devices at the same time, against one on the free plan. That covers most households’ phones, laptops and tablets on a single account, and Proton’s plan overview also lists router support.

Is the Proton VPN Black Friday deal worth it?

Yes, if you want a paid VPN for the next two years. The Proton VPN Black Friday offer takes 75% off the 24-month plan, which was already Proton’s cheapest regular way to hold VPN Plus, and covers both years with one payment before it renews each year at $83.88. You get 10 devices, more than 140 countries, streaming and P2P support and NetShield.

Skip it if the free plan does what you need, or if you would also pay for Mail, Pass or Drive, in which case Unlimited is the better buy. If VPN Plus is the plan for you, claim the Proton VPN two-year offer before 30 November.

Final Verdict

Proton's Black Friday VPN offer is the strongest deal in its 2026 sale for anyone who wants a paid VPN for two years: one payment covers 24 months of VPN Plus with 10 devices, more than 140 countries, streaming, P2P and NetShield, and the renewal price is stated up front. Skip it if the free plan is enough, and choose Unlimited if you would also pay for Mail, Pass or Drive.
